Matthew Milam II
I come from a background in sales; my first career path upon leaving school. Desiring a more stable working condition to allow for my young and growing family, I moved into law enforcement where my knack with people could be applied and further developed. My time in criminal justice opened my eyes to the needs of the community, especially those challenged by the disadvantages of society. Coming from humble beginnings and poverty myself, I guess my heart was attentive to this area of urgency. Due to Gods providence I was allowed to develop an acute understanding of these conditions which helped to assist my determination for ministry. My world fell apart and I was placed in the center of one of the hardest hit groups of our society... I became homeless and lived as such for years. Instead of becoming resigned and bitter, my resolve was made stronger with a focused understanding of the things that are of value; love, mercy, and compassion. For me, seminary is just an added step in the preparations necessary for "My Father’s Business."
